Jury Trial in February 2015: Not Guilty

In February, McKenzie Law Offices, PLLC went to jury trial on behalf of a client accused of Felony Aggravated Assault, Felony Domestic Battery with Traumatic Injury, and Domestic Battery in the presence of a Child.  The State also charged our client with attempting to influence a witness and three counts of violating a no contact order for multiple telephone calls from the jail to the alleged victim.  A difficult case.

After a two day trial, the jury found our client NOT GUILTY of ALL the original charges (Not Guilty of Felony Aggravated Assault, Not Guilty of Felony Domestic Battery with Traumatic Injury, and Not Guilty of Domestic Battery in the presence of a Child).  The Court, on our motion, threw out two of the alleged violations of a no contact order, so our client was found guilty only of one count of influencing a witness and violating a no contact order.  We were pleased with the result and felt that justice was done for a man that was falsely accused.
