State dismisses charges after our motion to dismiss

The State had charged our client with injury to child and resisting and obstructing arrest.  After we reviewed the discovery we filed a motion to dismiss the charges because they police had conducted a warrantless search of our client’s home without justification and charged her with resisting and obstructing merely for refusing to speak with police while she was outside her home.  The court held a hearing on our motion at which the police testified.  The judge dismissed one charge at the time of the hearing, and the State dismissed the other charge shortly after because they had no basis to continue the charge after the court’s ruling.
